About Our Class
In July 2005, over a thousand young men and women reported to West Point on Reception Day, beginning a journey that would forge them into leaders for the nation. They arrived during a time when the country was engaged in two active wars — a reality that shaped every aspect of their four years at the Academy.
Through Beast Barracks, rigorous academics, military training, and the bonds of shared hardship, the Class of 2009 was molded in the tradition of the Long Gray Line. They upheld the values of Duty, Honor, Country — not as abstract ideals, but as a daily standard.
In May 2009, the class graduated and commissioned as Second Lieutenants in the United States Army. They went on to serve across the globe — from the mountains of Afghanistan to the deserts of Iraq, from the Korean Peninsula to posts throughout the United States and beyond. Their service continues to shape communities, organizations, and the nation.
